1 Scope
This standard specifies the technical requirements for variety selection, sub-ball breeding, finished ball production, post-harvest handling and storage of lily bulbs.
This standard applies to oriental lily hybrid (O), Asian lily hybrid (A), musk lily hybrid (L), oriental musk hybrid
Lily varieties of (O/L) and Musk Asiatic hybrid (L/A).

4 sub-ball breeding
4.1 Scale cuttings and breeding balls
4.1.1 Cutting method
Box type cuttings are used.
4.1.2 Selection of bulbs
Choose well-developed, disease-free, 16/18, 14/16 bulbs.
4.1.3 Selection and disinfection of scales
Select the outer layer of the bulb and the scale of the middle layer of hypertrophy, and sterilize it with carbendazim 500 times solution and sensitized zinc 500 times solution for 30 minutes, then

4.1.4 Cutting substrate and disinfection
Peat or vermiculite should be used and disinfected at high temperature.
4.1.5 Cutting containers and disinfection
It is advisable to use a 60cm×40cm general-purpose ball box, lining the plastic film, and soaking it with 0.2% potassium permanganate solution for 30min.
