3 Terms and Definitions
For the purpose of this Standard, the following terms and definitions apply.
there is no inevitable relationship between them and the actual conditions in the
workplace. Therefore, when selecting protective clothing, on the basis of evaluating
the wearer's operating conditions and content, combine the involved risk level, and
the performance data of the protective clothing provided by the manufacturer to
prevent hazards.
4 Ergonomics
Protective clothing shall be designed and produced according to the following
requirements:
a) The materials and components of the protective clothing shall ensure that they
do not adversely affect the wearer.
b) While meeting the protection requirements, the protection clothing should make
the wearer as comfortable as possible.
c) Where the protective clothing comes into contact with the wearer's body,
excessive irritations or injuries caused by rough, sharp angles and protruding
parts shall be avoided.
d) Considering the influence of external factors and the possible movement and
posture of the wearer during work, the design of the protective clothing shall
facilitate the correct position of the wearing and ensure that the position is
maintained during the intended use. Therefore, appropriate methods should be
adopted to adapt the protective clothing to the shape of the wearer, such as:
suitable adjustment structure and suitable size range.
e) Without affecting the design strength and effect, try to reduce the mass of
protective clothing.
f) The design of protective clothing should consider forming a comprehensive
protective integrity with other series of protective clothing or equipment after
wearing. The connection between protective clothing and other protective
equipment, such as the connection from sleeves to gloves, trousers to shoes,
hood to respirator, should provide the same level of protection.
If the protective clothing permits humid and heat resistance, the humid and heat
resistance shall be small. The test method for humid and heat resistance shall be
specified in specific standards.
NOTE 1: The manufacturer shall perform the test in accordance with the test methods specified
in national standards or international standards.
NOTE 2: Protective clothing cannot be breathable due to protection requirements, and other
6 Dimensioning
Protective clothing shall be dimensioned according to GB/T 13640-1992.
7 Marking
7.1 General marks
Every protective clothing should be marked.
The marks shall:
--- Attached to the product or product label;
--- Fixed in a clear and easy to read place;
--- Can withstand the appropriate number of cleanings.
If the mark on the product shall reduce the performance level of the protective clothing
and is not conducive to storage or hinder the application; then the mark shall be set on
the smallest commodity packaging unit.
The marks and graphic symbols should be simple and easy to understand; and use
easy-to-read numbers.
NOTE: Try not to use the number of less than 2mm; the graphic symbol is no less than 10 mm
(including the border). Numbers and graphic symbols should use a black or white
background.
7.2 Specific marks
The mark shall include the following information:
a) The manufacturer's name, trademark or other logos indicating the manufacturer
or distributor.
b) The type of product or basic material; and the product name or code.
c) Dimensioning as specified in Clause 6.
d) The number of implementation standard.
e) Graphical symbols, if necessary, may include performance levels.
When graphical symbols are used to mark hazard types or use functions, they
shall be used in accordance with the provisions of marks in specific standards
