Desert ecosystem service assessment specification
1 Scope
This standard specifies the definition of desert ecosystem services, evaluation index system and evaluation formula.
This standard applies to the assessment of major ecological services in desert ecosystems.
2 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
2.1
Desert ecosystem desertecosystem
Biomes dominated by super-dry, dry-small arbor, semi-shrubs and herbaceous plants, as well as rare precipitation, strong evaporation, and drought
A natural ecosystem formed by the biological environment.
2.2
Desert ecosystem services desertecosystemservices
The various ecological benefits that humans derive from the desert ecosystem. It mainly includes wind and sand fixation, soil conservation, water resources regulation, carbon sequestration, and biology.
Services in diversity conservation, landscape recreation, etc.
2.3
Desert ecosystem services assessment desertecosystemservicesassessment
Scientific assessment of the physical quantity and value of desert ecosystem services.
2.4
Windbreaking sandfixandsandfixation
Desert vegetation and crust reduce wind and sand flow to reduce agricultural, industrial and transport hazards and increase livestock and crop yields
And other services.
2.5
Soil conservation soilconservation
The desert ecosystem transports the soil by wind, water, freezing and thawing to form a new soil suitable for living and desert vegetation reduction.
Services such as less soil loss.
2.6
Water resources regulation waterresourcesregulation
The desert ecosystem converts atmospheric precipitation and glacial meltwater into surface water that meets the needs of animals and plants through interception, leakage and condensation.
And groundwater and other services. Mainly reflected in condensed water, desert water storage and purification of water quality.
2.7
Carbon fixation
Vegetation and soil in desert ecosystems fix carbon dioxide services in the atmosphere.
2.8
Biodiversity conservation
Desert ecosystems provide habitat services for plant and animal species.
