3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this standard.
3.1
The lac insects are parasitic on the host tree and, after growth and development, are harvested for stocking the live worms of the next generation of lac insects.
3.2
It is secreted by lac insects, harvested from the host tree after maturity, removed from the branches, and dried to produce granule shellac, purple film and other products.

2 to 3 years old, the branch diameter is larger than 1cm, less than 3cm and suitable for the host branches fixed by lac insects.
3.4
