Foreword
This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This standard replaces LY/T 1183-1995 "α-pinene".
Compared with LY/T 1183-1995, this standard has the following main differences.
--- The color is changed to the platinum-cobalt method, and the color number is revised to 30;
--- Determination of relative density was modified to the densitometer method;
---α-pinene content was determined by capillary column chromatography;
--- Eliminated the product level of 90% α-pinene content;
--- Moisture determination adds the Karl Fischer method.
This standard was proposed by the Institute of Chemical Industry of Forest Products of the Chinese Academy of Forestry.

1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, storage and safety of α-pinene.
This standard applies to α-pinene obtained from the distillation of fat turpentine. The α-pinene separated from other natural essential oils can be referred to.
