1 Scope
This standard specifies the principle, reagents, instruments, sample preparation, operation steps and results of gas chromatography for the determination of squalene in vegetable oil.

3 Principle
The sample was saponified with potassium hydroxide-ethanol solution, extracted with n-hexane, and the angle of the vegetable oil was determined by gas chromatography using squalane as an internal standard.

4.1 Potassium hydroxide.
