This standard replaces GB/T 8138-1987 "shellac."
This standard compared with GB/T 8138-1987, the main changes are as follows.
--- Increasing the normative references;
--- Adjust the technical requirements of thermal curing time (thermal life) index value;
--- Remove the technical requirements must be measured, election test, note the requirements;
--- Increase the technical requirements "orpiment" indicators and requirements;
--- Increased Chapter 5, "sampling" to delete the contents of the sampling inspection rules;
--- Increased inspection rules in classification test and inspection project requirements;
--- Increased ambient temperature storage and transport requirements.
This standard was proposed by the State Forestry Administration.

1 Scope
This standard specifies the technical requirements of shellac, sampling, test methods, inspection rules and signs, packaging, storage and transportation.
This standard applies to particles of collagen gel shellac and purple with hot filtration, solvent processing shellac.
