4 Restoration Quality Requirements
4:1 Deacidification
Through the principle of acid-base neutralization, the acidic substances in the paper are removed: The main quality requirements for deacidification are as follows:
a) The pH of the paper is neutral or slightly alkaline (7:0≤pH≤8:5);
b) It has basically no effect on the performance and life of archival paper;
c) There is no blurring or diffusion of handwriting;
d) Alkali reserve of paper after deacidification treatment complies with the relevant provisions of ISO /T S18344;
e) Deacidification is uniform:

Use physical and chemical methods to remove water stains, oil spots, ink spots, metal rust spots, wax spots, mildew spots, mud spots and other stains on the files: decontamination master
