This document applies to the operation of green exhibitions. 2 Normative references The following documents contain the provisions which, through normative reference in this document, constitute the essential provisions of this document. For the dated referenced documents, only the versions with the indicated dates are applicable to this document; for the undated referenced documents, only the latest version (including all the amendments) is applicable to this document. GB 3095-2012 Ambient air quality standard GB/T 24001 Environmental management systems - Requirements with guidance for use GB/T 26165-2021 Trade exhibition - Terminology GB/T 41129-2021 Evaluation guidelines for green booth 3 Terms and definitions Terms and definitions defined in GB/T 26165-2021 and the following apply to this document. 3.1 stakeholders of the exhibition Relevant individuals or organizations involved in the entire exhibition process of preparation, move-in, on-display, move-out, summary, etc. NOTE: Exhibition-related parties include but are not limited to the organizer (co-organizer), exhibitors, exhibition venue operators, exhibition service providers, etc. 3.2 operation of green exhibition Relevant parties in the exhibition collaborate with each other to implement the principle of Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle throughout the entire exhibition process, giving priority to elements such as environmentally friendly design, technology, processes, equipment, facilities, materials, and venues to achieve sustainable development of the exhibition. 4 Basic principles 4.1 Principles of environmental protection It is crucial that the entire exhibition implementation process follows the 3R principle of Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle: a) Reduce: Use fewer resources to achieve exhibition functions; b) Reuse: The materials used can be used repeatedly in their original form or after repair and renovation; c) Recycle: The resources used can be recycled and reused economically. 4.2 Forward-looking principle Stakeholders of the exhibition should assess the situation, pay attention to developments and changes, and plan scientifically and systematically. The following measures are crucial: a) Stakeholders should assume social responsibility, pay attention to, implement, and jointly promote the concept of green development of exhibitions and national requirements for sustainable development, such as carbon emissions, plastic ban, etc.; b) It is advisable to pay attention to the development of science and technology, and promote the green development of exhibitions through the introduction of scientific and technological means, environmental protection and energy- saving measures, online and offline technical means, etc.; c) Incentive measures can be taken appropriately to encourage the implementation of measures for the operation of green exhibitions. It is advisable to carry out green exhibition stand evaluation in accordance with GB/T 41129-2021 and explore the implementation path of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality for exhibitions; d) It is advisable to cooperate, pay attention to and control the friendliness of the working environment, provide protective devices and equipment, and ensure including but not limited to domestic waste, solid waste, hazardous waste, etc. 5.3.4 It is appropriate to promote the green concept of exhibitions and demonstrate the results of green exhibition operations during the exhibition through some channels or forms. 5.3.5 Green-themed exhibition selection and exchange activities can be held during the exhibition, with themes including but not limited to green exhibitions, green materials, green transportation, etc. 5.4 Move-out stage 5.4.1 It is appropriate to standardize and supervise the operating procedures of exhibitors, exhibition construction project enterprises, waste disposal companies, and other stakeholders of the exhibition involved in the move-out of the exhibition, so that they comply with green environmental protection requirements. 5.4.2 It is advisable to implement green booth evaluation in accordance with GB/T 41129-2021, focusing on monitoring the recycling of professional exhibition equipment and the recycling and disposal of solid waste. 5.5 Summary stage 5.5.1 It is appropriate to evaluate and summarize the experience and shortcomings of the green implementation of the exhibition according to the PDCA principle (referring to Plan, Do, Check, and Action), formulate improvement measures, and form a report. Improvement measures should be included in the green exhibition operation plan for the next cycle of exhibitions. 5.5.2 It is appropriate to analyze the green operation of this exhibition based on the data of the entire exhibition process and the evaluation indicators determined in the plan. The indicators such as green booth popularizing rate, air environment data, and waste disposal volume shall be analyzed emphatically with reference to GB/T 41129-2021. 5.5.3 Post-exhibition reports should be sent in an information-based manner. 5.5.4 Customer relationship maintenance should be carried out through video conferencing. and reduce the collection of paper business cards. 6.3.5 It is advisable to give priority to green travel, such as public transportation, and choose accommodation that has obtained green-related certifications and is close to the public transportation system. 6.4 Move-out stage 6.4.1 Green and low-carbon methods should be used to return exhibits. 6.4.2 It is appropriate to recycle booth decorations, promotional materials, etc. 6.4.3 Unnecessary but fully functional exhibits and other materials can be donated to local schools or social welfare groups. 7 Key points in operation of exhibition venue operators 7.1 Preparatory phase 7.1.1 It is advisable to recommend the implementation of green exhibition operations to organizers (co-organizers) during the approach stage of an exhibition. 7.1.2 Priority should be given to providing exhibition venue rental services to exhibition organizers (co-organizers) with complete and feasible green exhibition operation plans. 7.1.3 It is advisable to take advantage of the venue and use exhibitions to disseminate the concept of green development of exhibitions to the public. 7.1.4 Garbage sorting points should be established and provided. 7.2 Move-in stage 7.2.1 Exhibition service providers who cooperate with exhibition venue operators should be required and supervised to implement green measures. 7.2.2 It is advisable to provide guidance and support in aspects such as transportation, construction, catering, and garbage disposal. 7.3 On-display stage 7.3.1 Traffic diversion should be strengthened to reduce the negative impact on nearby residents. 7.3.2 It is advisable to monitor the detection values of dust and harmful gases in the exhibition building to ensure compliance with the requirements for Class II functional areas in GB 3095-2012. 7.3.3 It is appropriate to optimize and upgrade the exhibition building guidance system, enrich visual and digital guidance methods, provide differentiated signage and guidance functions according to different uses and different exhibitions, and reduce temporary signs. 7.3.4 Energy-saving and water-saving equipment should be used in public areas. 7.3.5 Barrier-free facilities should be provided and their normal operation should be ensured. 7.3.6 It is advisable to provide convenience for the organizer (co-organizer) to hold exchange meetings on green themes such as exhibitions, exhibition materials, and transportation. 7.4 Move-out stage 7.4.1 It is advisable to cooperate with the organizer (co-organizer) to supervise whether the stakeholders of the exhibition participating in the move-out of the exhibition have implemented green implementation measures and operating procedures as required. 7.4.2 It is advisable to cooperate with the organizer (co-organizer) to formulate move- out plans for booth dismantling, exhibit transportation, and exhibition rack transportation, and do a good job in personnel management, logistics transportation, garbage cleanup, etc. 8 Key points in operation of exhibition service providers 8.1 Key points in operation of exhibition construction project enterprises 8.1.1 When a booth is designed, it should comply with the principles of reduce, reuse, and recycle and the development trends of simplicity in decoration, standardization of components, and environmentally friendly materials. 8.1.2 When a booth is constructed, professional exhibition equipment AND energy- saving and environmentally friendly equipment should be used; materials that are lightweight AND easy to install, disassemble and transport should be used; modular, component-based and other operating methods should be adopted. 8.1.3 During booth construction, it is crucial to take environmental protection measures 8.4 Key points in operation of catering service providers 8.4.1 Measures such as energy and water conservation, meal guidance, garbage classification, wastewater and waste gas treatment should be formulated and implemented. 8.4.2 It is advisable to carry out on-site publicity to encourage reasonable dining and reduce waste. 8.4.3 It is crucial to use food raw materials that comply with relevant hygiene standards. 8.4.4 It is advisable to reduce packaging or avoid unnecessary packaging, and use harmless and environmentally friendly materials for packaging. 8.4.5 It is advisable to reduce the consumption of disposable tableware. If it is really necessary to use it, give priority to biodegradable materials. 8.4.6 It is crucial to implement measures for garbage recycling and classified treatment. 8.5 Key points in operation of waste disposal companies 8.5.1 It is crucial to implement waste classification and resource recycling measures throughout the exhibition process. 8.5.2 It is advisable to formulate a garbage classification plan in advance and determine garbage classification points, resource recovery points, etc. 8.5.3 It is crucial to classify, recycle and process domestic garbage and solid waste AND to follow the following principles: a) When handling domestic waste, adopt the principle of "no classification, no collection and transportation"; b) When handling solid waste, adopt the principle of "classification, concentration and harmlessness"; c) If the treatment of hazardous solid waste is involved, the company must have a hazardous waste business license and handle the waste in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Law of the People's Republic of China on the Prevention and Control of Environmental Pollution by Solid Waste. 8.5.4 It is crucial that garbage collection, classification, and disposal comply with the requirements of the local government's garbage classification system. ......
