Technical specifications for extracting valuable metals from copper smelting soot1 ScopeThis standard specifies the basic requirements, process flow and technical requirements for the extraction of valuable metals from copper smelting soot.
This standard applies to the extraction of valuable metals such as copper, cadmium, zinc, lead, and bismuth from soot produced by copper smelting enterprises during the pyrometallurgical copper smelting process.
This standard does not apply to the co-processing of soot and other materials to extract valuable metals.2 Normative referencesThe following documents are indispensable for the application of this document. For dated reference documents, only the dated version applies to this article

3.1
Copper smelting soot
The material collected by the dust collection system of the process flue gas generated in the copper smelting process such as smelting, blowing, and pyrometallurgy.4 Basic requirements4.1 The storage of copper smelting soot should meet the requirements of GB 18597.
4.2 The discharge of pollutants during the extraction of valuable metals from copper smelting soot should meet the requirements of HJ863.3.
4.3 The waste gas produced in the process of extracting valuable metals from copper smelting soot should meet the requirements of GB 25466 and GB 25467.
4.4 The waste water generated during the extraction of valuable metals from copper smelting soot should be collected and treated for reuse or discharged in compliance with standards to prevent secondary pollution.
4.5 The solid waste generated during the extraction of valuable metals from copper smelting soot should be identified in accordance with GB 5085.7.
Those with hazardous characteristics shall be managed as general industrial solid wastes, comprehensive utilization shall be given priority, and corresponding prevention and control measures shall be taken during the collection and storage process.
If it is identified as hazardous waste, harmless disposal measures shall be adopted.
4.6 The noise during the extraction of valuable metals from copper smelting soot should meet the requirements of GB 12348.
4.7 The process of extracting valuable metals from copper smelting soot should comply with relevant national and industry regulations and standards on quality, safety, hygiene, and fire protection.
