This standard was drafted in accordance with GB/T 1.1-2009 given rules.
This standard replaces GB/T 12725-1991 "nickel-iron alkaline battery master specification."
This standard compared with GB/T 12725-1991, the main changes are as follows.
--- Standard name to "iron-nickel alkaline batteries universal norms";
--- Inspection rules will modify the quality assessment procedures to identify the test (this standard 6.2) and quality conformance inspection (this standard
6.3) instead of the delivery inspection (GB 12725-1991 6.2) and routine tests (GB 12725-1991 6.3);
--- Modify the requirements and test methods for battery capacity test (this standard 4.5 and 5.7, GB 12725-1991 4.5 and
5.9);
--- Modify the battery storage performance test methods (this standard 5.10, GB 12725-1991 5.12).

1 Scope
This standard specifies the basic nickel-iron battery technology requirements, test methods, quality assessment procedures, marking, packaging, transportation and storage.
This standard applies to nominal voltage of 1.2V alkaline iron-nickel (hereinafter referred to as a battery).

4 Requirements
4.1 Design and Structure
Battery shell is made of steel or made of plastic. Steel housing and all metal parts of the external battery should be nickel or rust through,
