Foreword
This Standard serves as a replacement of GB/T 9265-1988 Determination for Alkali
Resistance of Film of Architectural Paints and Coatings.
In comparison with the previous GB/T 9265-1988, there are the following main
technical changes.
---The substrate of test panel is modified from asbestos cement board into non-
asbestos fiber cement flat sheet;
---In the result of determination, a stipulation that when pathological phenomena
(bubbles, stripping and pulverization, etc.) of coating emerge, it can be
determined in accordance with GB/T 1766 is added.
This Standard was proposed by China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation.
This Standard shall be under the jurisdiction of National Technical Committee on Paints
& Pigments of Standardization Administration of China.

1 Scope
This Standard specifies the method of determining alkali resistance (saturated calcium
hydroxide solution) of film of architectural paints and coatings.
