NATIONAL STANDARD OF THE PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF CHINA ICS 87.040 G 50 GB/T 9266-2009 Replacing GB/T 9266-1988 Determination of scrub resistance of film of architectural paints and coatings Issued on. June 2, 2009 Implemented on. February 1, 2010 Issued by. General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine; Standardization Administration Committee. Table of Contents Foreword ... 3 1 Scope ... 4 2 Normative references ... 4 3 Instruments and materials ... 4 4 Sampling ... 6 5 Preparation of test board ... 6 6 Operation steps ... 6 7 Result assessment ... 7 8 Test report ... 7 Determination of scrub resistance of film of architectural paints and coatings 1 Scope This Standard specifies the method for determining the scrub resistance of architectural coatings that can make flat coatings. 2 Normative references The following standards contain the provisions which, through reference in this Standard, constitute the provisions of this Standard. For dated references, subsequent amendments (excluding corrections) or revisions do not apply to this Standard. However, the parties who enter into agreement based on this Standard are encouraged to investigate whether the latest versions of these documents are applicable. For undated reference documents, the latest versions apply to this Standard. GB/T 3186, Paints varnishes and raw materials for paints and varnishes Sampling (GB/T 3186-2006, ISO 15528.2000, IDT) GB/T 9271, Paints and varnishes standard panels for testing (GB/T 92712008, ISO 1514.2004, MOD) GB/T 9278, Temperatures and humidities for conditioning and testing of paint specimens (GB/T 9278-2008, ISO 3270.1984, Paints and varnishes and their raw materials - Temperatures and humidities for conditioning and testing, IDT) JC/T 412.1-2006, Fiber cement flat sheets - Part 1. Non-Asbestos Fiber cement flat sheets 3 Instruments and materials 3.1 Scrub resistance tester As shown in Figure 1. It is an apparatus for enabling a brush to reciprocate linearly on the surface of a coating of a test sample to wash it. The brush movement frequency is reciprocating (37±2) cycles per minute, the distance of one reciprocating stroke is 300mm×2, and the motion is roughly uniform in the middle 100mm interval. The total mass of the fixture and brush shall be (450±10) 4 Sampling According to GB/T 3186, take a representative sample of the testing product. 5 Preparation of test board 5.1 Substrate Unless otherwise specified or agreed, the substrate shall be a non-asbestos fiber cement slab conforming to the NAF H V-class in JC/T 412.1-2006, and shall be flat and free of deformation. The size is 430mm × 150mm × (3~6) mm. 5.2 Processing and coating Unless otherwise specified or agreed, each test board shall be treated in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 9271, and then the test product or system shall be coated according to the prescribed method. 5.3 Drying and conditioning Unless otherwise specified or agreed, the painted test board shall be dried for 7d under the conditions specified in GB/T 9278. 6 Operation steps 6.1 Experimental environmental conditions Carry out the test at a temperature of (23±2)°C unless otherwise specified or agreed. 6.2 Determination 6.2.1 The test board is painted upwards and horizontally fixed on the test bench of the scrub resistance tester. 6.2.2 Place the pretreated brush on the painted surface of the test board. Keep the brush naturally drooping. Add approximately 2mL of scrubbing medium (3.3) to the test area of the sample. Start the instrument immediately. Reciprocatingly scrub the coating. At the same time, add the scrubbing medium (3.3) dropwise at a rate of about 0.04mL per second to keep the washing surface moist. 6.2.3 After the brush is washed to the specified number of times or washed to the 100mm area of the length of the sample to expose the substrate, remove the test board. Rinse with tap water. ......
