1 Scope
This Standard specifies the determination of potassium content for compound
fertilizers.
This Standard applies to the determination of potassium content for compound
fertilizers.

indicator solutions for chemical analysis
3 Principle
In weak alkaline solution, sodium tetraphenylborate solution reacts with potassium ions
in the sample solution and generates potassium tetraphenylborate precipitates;
FILTRATE the precipitates, DRY and WEIGH. If the sample contains cyanamide or
organic matters, it may first add bromine water and activated carbon to treat. To
prevent cationic interference, an appropriate amount of ethylenediaminetetraacetic
acid disodium salt (EDTA) can be added in advance to complex the cation with
disodium ethylenediaminetetraacetate.
