3 Terms and Definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Retention rate
The ratio of the value after the test to the value before the test.
3.2 Yellowness index difference
ΔYI
The difference between the yellowness index YI after the test and the yellowness index
YI before the test.
4 Instruments and equipment
4.1 High pressure cooking aging test box

accuracy shall be ±3%, and the air pressure in the test box shall change with the
temperature and humidity.
4.2 UV high temperature and high humidity aging test box
Ultraviolet spectral distribution. 280 nm~400 nm [Middle-wave ultraviolet (UVB)
wavelength is 280 nm~320 nm, and long-wave ultraviolet (UVA) wavelength is 320
nm~400 nm]; the irradiation intensity shall meet the ultraviolet irradiation conditions
required for the test; the irradiation uniformity shall be better than ±15%; temperature
control accuracy shall be ±2.0 ℃, and temperature fluctuation shall be ≤ ±1.0 ℃;

be ≤ ±(3~5)%; effective irradiation area shall be at least 400 mm×300 mm.
5 Sample preparation
5.1 Glass samples for photovoltaic modules. The size should be 300 mm×300 mm, and
the number of samples should be 3 pieces.
5.2 Encapsulating adhesive film sample. After stacking the glass, adhesive film, and
backplane in sequence, put it into a vacuum laminating machine, and perform curing
and crosslinking according to the curing temperature and time required by the product
to obtain a laminate. The glass shall be ultra-white patterned glass; the backplane shall
have a composite structure; the size of the laminate should be 300 mm×300 mm, and
the appearance shall not have obvious bubbles and delamination. The number of
samples is 3.
5.3 Photovoltaic backplane samples. They are divided into bare chip samples and
laminate samples. After stacking the glass, adhesive film, and backplane in sequence,
put it into a vacuum laminating machine, and perform curing and crosslinking
according to the curing temperature and time required by the product to obtain a
laminate. The glass shall be ultra-white patterned glass, and the encapsulating adhesive
film shall be ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA) adhesive film with a degree of
Note 2.In addition to the recommended test time, other test time can be agreed upon between the supplier
and the buyer.
6.4 Ultraviolet high temperature and high humidity test
Put the sample into the ultraviolet high temperature and high humidity aging test box,
and the test conditions are as follows. the sample’s test temperature is 85 ℃±2 ℃; the
relative humidity is 85%±2%; the ultraviolet spectral distribution is 280 nm~400 nm
[middle-wave ultraviolet (UVB) wavelength is 280 nm~320 nm, and long-wave
ultraviolet (UVA) wavelength is 320 nm~400 nm]; the irradiation intensity is 150
W/m2~200 W/m2, and UVB accounts for 3%~10% of UV(A+B) energy. The
cumulative irradiation amount of the glass used for photovoltaic modules should be 30
kW • h/m2, 45 kW • h/m2, 60 kW • h/m2; the cumulative irradiation amount of the
encapsulating adhesive film should be 30 kW • h/m2, 45 kW • h/m2, 60 kW • h/m2; the
cumulative irradiation amount of the photovoltaic backplane should be 45 kW • h/m2,
60 kW • h/m2, 75 kW • h/m2.Close the box door and run the program.
Note. In addition to the recommended cumulative irradiation amount, other irradiation amounts can be
agreed upon by the supplier and the buyer.
6.5 Performance test after aging test
After the aging test, take out the sample and test the performance of the sample after
aging according to the test items in Table 1.
7 Test data processing
7.1 For glass used for photovoltaic modules, test the sunlight effective transmittance
(380 nm~1100 nm) before and after the aging test according to the stipulations in Table
1, and calculate the difference according to the provisions in JC/T 2170.
7.2 For the encapsulating adhesive film, test the yellowness index YI and peeling
strength of the glass surface of the sample before and after the aging test according to
the stipulations in Table 1, and calculate the yellowing index ΔYI.
7.3 For the photovoltaic backplane, test the yellowness index YI, elongation at break,
and peeling strength of the samples before and after the aging test respectively
according to the stipulations in Table 1, and calculate the yellowing index ΔYI and the
retention rate of elongation at break.
