Pitch from coal liquefaction
1 Scope
This Standard specifies the terms and definitions, technical requirements and
test methods, inspection rules, packaging, marking, transportation, storage,
delivery acceptance and safety requirements for pitch from coal liquefaction.
This Standard applies to pitch products that are produced by processes such
as hydro-liquefaction and coal-oil co-processing, with coal as raw material.

When pitch from coal liquefaction is used downstream, according to its use, attention
shall also be paid to the indicators of sulfur and other harmful elements, which shall meet
relevant regulations.
5 Inspection rules
5.1 Delivery inspection
Delivery batch inspection items: ash, softening point, toluene insoluble matter,
moisture.
Delivery cycle inspection items: penetration, mass change, flash point,
quinoline insoluble matter, density. In the case of stable production, the
inspection cycle is one year.
5.2 Type inspection
All inspection items that are specified in Table 1 are type inspection items.
Carry out type inspection in the following cases:
a) Trial type appraisal of new products or products that are transferred to the
factory for production;
b) After formal production, if there are major changes in structure, materials
and processes, which may affect product performance;
c) When production resumes after a long-term shutdown;
d) Type inspection according to cycle during normal production;
e) When the national quality supervision institutions propose a requirement
to carry out type inspection;
f) When the user proposes a requirement to carry out type inspection.
5.3 Batch rules
In the case of the same production process, the volume of each batch of
products does not exceed 2 000 t.
