Cold drawn or cold rolled precision weld steel tubes for mechanical structures 1 Scope This Standard specifies the classification, code, dimension, shape, weight and tolerance, technical requirements, inspection and test methods, inspection rules, packaging, marks and quality certificates of cold drawn or cold rolled precision weld steel tubes for automotive and machinery. The theoretical weight per meter of steel tube shall be in accordance with GB/T 17395 (the density of the steel is 7.85 kg/dm3). 6 Technical requirements 6.1 Steel designation and chemical composition 6.1.1 The designation and chemical composition of the steel (melting analysis) shall be in accordance with the relevant provisions of Q195, Q215, Q235, and Q275 of GB/T 700 and Q345 of GB/T 1591. According to buyer’s requirements, after negotiation of the seller and the buyer, steel tubes of other designations can be supplied. 6.1.2 When the analysis on finished product required by the buyer, it should be indicated in the contract that the tolerance of the chemical composition of finished steel tube shall comply with the provisions of GB/T 222. 6.2 Manufacturing method 6.2.1 Steel smelting method The steel should be the fully killed steel which uses electric furnace or oxygen converter smelting. of acceptance Grade B of GB/T 7735-2004. 6.7 Surface roughness When the buyer has requirements for surface roughness of steel tube, it should be indicated in the contract.
