Screw lamp holder
1 Scope
This document applies to E14, E27 and E40 Edison screw lamp holders for use with lamps and semi-luminaires 1) power connections only.
1) The technical requirements for lamp holders for semi-luminaires are still under study.
This document also applies to switch-type lampholders used only in AC circuits with operating voltages not exceeding 250V (effective value).
This document also applies to E5 screw lamp holders for indoor use with a working voltage not exceeding 25V and connected in series, and with a working voltage not exceeding 60V connected in series.
E10 screw lamp holders for indoor and outdoor use, as well as flush-mounted E10 lamp holders that are individually connected to the power supply. These lampholders are not intended for
retail.
To the extent that this document is appropriately adopted, this document also applies to non-Edison screw lampholders connected in series with a power source.
Note. For example, this type of lamp holder is used in Christmas tree light strings.
To the extent that this document is appropriately adopted, this document also applies to adapters.
This document also applies to those lampholders that are fully or partially integrated with the luminaire, as well as those that are intended to be installed within the equipment.
This document only covers lampholder requirements. For other requirements, such as the requirements for protection against electric shock for terminal blocks or lamp holders, when the equipment is tested in accordance with its own standards
