Summary This standard specifies the use of gas chromatography to determine the purity of 1-butene for industrial use and the content of hydrocarbon impurities. This standard applies to the purity not less than 99.00% (mass fraction), and the content of hydrocarbon impurities such as propane, propylene, isobutane, n-butane, acetylene, trans-2-butene, isobutene, cis-2-butene, etc. is not less than 0.001% (mass fraction), propadiene, propyne content not less than 2mL/^3, 1,3-butadiene content not less than 10 mL/resistant or 0.001% (mass fraction) for industrial 1-butene test Sample determination. Since this standard cannot determine all possible impurities such as oxygenated compounds, isobutylene dimer, water, etc., other test methods need to be applied to fully characterize 1-butene samples.
