SH/T 1499.1-2012 SH PETROCHEMICAL INDUSTRY STANDARD OF THE PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF CHINA ICS 71.080.40 G 17 Registration number: 36916-2012 Replacing SH/T 1499.1-1997 Pure adipic acid – Part 1: Specification ISSUED ON: MAY 24, 2012 IMPLEMENTED ON: NOVEMBER 01, 2012 Issued by: Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of PRC Table of contents Foreword ... 3  1 Scope ... 5  2 Normative references ... 5  3 Requirements ... 6  4 Test method ... 6  5 Inspection rules ... 7  6 Marking, packaging, transport, and storage ... 8  7 Safety ... 9  Foreword SH/T 1499 "refined adipic acid" is divided into the following parts: - Part 1: Specification; - Part 2: Determination of content – Titrimetric method; - Part 3: Measurement of ammonia solution colour (in Pt-Co scale) – Spectrophotometric method; - Part 4: Determination of ash; - Part 5: Determination of content of iron - 2, 2’-Bipyridyl spectrophotometric method; - Part 6: Determination of content of iron - Fast method; - Part 7: Determination of content of nitric acid - Spectrophotometric method; - Part 8: Determination of content of oxidizable compounds – Titrimetric method; - Part 9: Measurement of melt colour (in Pt-Co scale); - Part 10: Determination of content of moisture – Thermogravimetric method; This part is part 1 of SH/T 1499. This part was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009. This part replaces SH/T 1499. 1-1997 “Pure adipic acid”. The main differences between this part and SH/T 1499. 1-1997“Pure adipic acid” are as follows: - CHANGE the standard name into “Pure adipic acid - Part 1: Specification”; - CANCEL the qualified products; - CANCEL two indicators: oxidizable compounds and melt colour; - CHANGE the content in superior grade product from “≥ 99.70%” to “≥ 99.80%”; - CHANGE the melting point of superior grade product from “≥ 151.5°C” to “≥ 152.0°C”; Pure adipic acid – Part 1: Specification 1 Scope This part specifies the technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transport, storage and safety of pure adipic acid. This part is applied to the pure adipic acid using the cyclohexane as raw materials, which is subjected to two-step oxidation to produce coarse adipic acid, AND then decolourized by activated carbon, recrystallized, separated and dried. This part also applies to pure adipic acid produced by cyclohexene hydrochemical method. Molecular formula: C6H10O4 Relative molecular mass: 146.14 (In accordance with the 2009 international relative atomic mass). 2 Normative references The following documents are essential to the application of this document.
