Palm vine rattan defect
1 Scope
This standard specifies the classification, terminology and map of defects in palm vines (see Appendix A).
This standard applies to the production, trade and processing of rattan (including raw vines, planed vines, polished vines, polished vines and large round cores).
2 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
2.1
Node
The cane has a ring-shaped part of the leaf, which usually protrudes outward.
2.2
Long section longnode
The length of the section itself is significantly longer than the general section.
2.3
Large section (or expansion joint) largejoint/swolennode
The vines are swollen, significantly larger than the internodes.
2.4
Close stitching section closejoint
The vine joints are connected in a tight seam.
2.5
Steering knuckle divertednode
The pitch of the adjacent nodes tends to be in different directions.
2.6
Inter-internodes
The part between the adjacent two sections on the cane.
2.7
Constriction section (or short section) concentratedjoint
The internode length is significantly shorter than the normal section.
2.8
Uneven section uneveninternodelength
The internode lengths of adjacent sections are significantly different.

Tortoise vine tortoiseshape
The shape of the entire vine is two small and the middle is bulging, resembling a turtle.
2.10
Discoloration stain
