1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, classification, general requirements and regulations for gas-solid separation devices in the pneumatic conveying and dedusting systems of the timber industry.

This standard is applicable to the production of various wood-based panels and wood products, and the separation and removal of wood or non-wood loose materials or chip waste.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

Gas-solid separation device (referred to as separation device) gas-solidseparatingequipment
A device for effectively separating debris in a mixed gas stream in a pneumatic conveying or dedusting system.
3.2
Crushed bulksolids
A bulk composed of woody or non-woody solid particles of various shapes and sizes.
3.3
Gas flow rate; inletgasflowrate
The actual gas flow of the mixed gas stream entering the separation unit, measured in "m3/h" or "m3/min".
3.4
Mixed concentration solidconcentration
In the standard state, the mass of the material contained in the mixed gas stream per unit volume or mass is expressed in "kg/m3" or "kg/kg".
3.5
Maximum permitted processing concentration maxiumpermittedsolidconcentration
Under the specified operating conditions, the rated separation efficiency is met, allowing the highest mixing concentration to enter the separation unit, at "kg/m3" or
"kg/kg" count.

Separation efficiency
The ratio of the mass of particulate matter that can be separated from the mixed gas stream to the mass of the total particulate matter under specified operating conditions
