This standard and GB/T 8987-1988 compared to major technological changes as follows.

1 Scope
This standard specifies the test target and method of use to check microfilming negative images with optical density.
This standard applies to 16mm microfilm camera platform A6 microfiche and microfilm camera microfilming.
This standard does not apply to Rotary COM microfilm camera and recorder.

4 A4 format density test target
4.1 General
A4 format density test target format for the A6 by four gray area and a shrinkage scale test configuration, the layout shown in Figure 1.
4.2 gray zone
Four A6 format of the gray zone should have the following respective reflectance or optical density.
--- A gray zone of reflectivity of R457 = 80% + 5%, equivalent to the density of the diffuse reflection D457 = 0.071 ~ 0.097;
--- A gray zone of reflectivity of R457 = 6% ± 0.4%, equivalent to the density of the diffuse reflection D457 = 1.194 ~ 1.252;
--- Two remaining gray regions reflectivity of R457 = 50% ± 3%, the diffuse reflectance density is equivalent to D457 = 0.276 ~ 0.328.
NOTE. R457 and D457 shows measured reflectance or diffuse reflection density, color filter used for the wavelength of the light passing through the center of 457nm, measured as A light source.
4.3 feet shrinkage test
Shrinkage test foot width should be (10 ± 1) mm, the length shall be (100 ± 1) mm, and press mm divided scale.
4.4 standard board size
A4 format density test target dimensions shall be 297mm × 210mm.
