This document applies to the determination of the activities of chondroitin sulfate AC and chondroitin sulfate B using biochemical reagents.

3 Terms and Definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1
1000 μL of substrate solution (5.2.2, 5.2.3) at 30 °C and pH 7.5 produces 1 μmol of 4,5-unsaturated sugar per minute through enzymatic hydrolysis.

4.Principles
Chondroitin sulfate enzymes catalyze the cleavage of substrates such as sodium chondroitin sulfate or dermatan sulfate, producing the cleavage product 4,5-unsaturated uronic acid.

5.Reagents and Materials
Unless otherwise stated, all reagents used in this method are of analytical grade, and the water is grade II water as specified in GB/T 6682.
5.1 Reagents
5.1.1 Chondroitin sulfate sodium (CAS No. 9082-07-9). purity ≥99%, or a standard substance/standard certified by the state and granted a certificate.
