1 Scope

This document specifies the technical requirements for earth-rock dam safety monitoring design, installation, commissioning and acceptance, operation and maintenance. This document is applicable to the dam bodies, dam foundations, dam shoulders, water discharge and energy dissipation structures of Class 1, Class 2 and Class 3 earth-rock dams, as well as Safety monitoring of slopes near the dam reservoir bank and hub area shall be carried out as a reference for level 4 and level 5 earth-rock dams.
