1 Scope
This document specifies the requirements for laboratories and materials for the determination of water retention of cement mortar. It describes the method for determining the water consumption and water retention of cement mortar.
The method specifies the handling of test results.
This document is applicable to the determination of water retention rate of general-purpose Portland cement and masonry cement mortar, and is used as a reference for other cements and materials.

4 Laboratory environment and materials
4.1 Laboratory Environment
The temperature in the laboratory should be maintained at 20℃±2℃ and the relative humidity should not be lower than 50%.
4.2 Test water
Drinking water should be used. In case of dispute, grade 3 water that complies with GB/T 6682 should be used.
4.3 Standard sand
Should comply with the requirements of GSB 08﹘1337.
5 Determination of water consumption of cement mortar
5.1 Instruments and Equipment

The measuring range should not be less than 2 kg and the graduation value should not be greater than 0.1 g.
