This standard specifies the code of the domestic main commodity timber species.
This standard applies to domestically produced main commodity logs and sawn timber.

3 Main commodity timber tree species code
3.1 The names of timber species are sorted in alphabetical order by the Latin name, and the first species in the same section are again in accordance with the tree species in GB/T 16734-1997.

3.2 Tree species code writing principles.
a) When the genus name and the genre are determined, the code name. "The first two letters of the first two letters of the genus name" are composed of 4 letters.
