4 Potassium iodide spectrophotometry
4.1 Method summary
The sample is dissolved in sodium hydroxide, hydrogen peroxide is added to decompose the silicide, and acidified with nitric acid. In a sulfuric acid medium, Bi(Ⅲ) and potassium iodide form
It becomes a yellow soluble complex, and its absorbance is measured at a wavelength of 465nm in a spectrophotometer to determine the content of bismuth.
4.2 Reagents
Unless otherwise stated, only reagents and laboratory secondary water confirmed to be analytically pure are used in the analysis.
4.2.1 Hydrogen peroxide (ρ=1.10g/mL).
4.2.2 Sulfuric acid (1 1).
4.2.3 Nitric acid (1 1).
4.2.4 Sodium hydroxide solution (400g/L).
4.2.5 Urea solution (5g/L).
4.2.6 Thiourea solution (100g/L). Weigh 10g of thiourea and dissolve it in 100mL of water, if necessary, filter with quick filter paper (prepared when used).
4.2.7 Potassium iodide solution (200g/L). Weigh 20g potassium iodide and 2g ascorbic acid, and dissolve them in 100mL water (prepared when used).
4.2.8 Bismuth standard storage solution. Weigh 1.0000g metallic bismuth (wBi≥99.99%) into a 300mL beaker, add 50mL nitric acid
(4.2.3), cover with a watch glass, slowly heat to dissolve completely, cool to room temperature, and transfer to a 1000mL volumetric flask (pre-add 50mL nitric acid
