This standard is identical with ISO 8440. 1986 "Location of codes in trade documents" (in English), including Technical Corrigendum ISO 8440.

For ease of use, the standard ISO 8440. 1986 made the following editorial changes.
--- "This International Standard" be replaced by "this standard";
--- Increase the informative Appendix A (trade document).
This standard replaces GB/T 14393-1993 "position trade documents in the code."
This standard and GB/T 14393-1993 major changes are as follows.
--- Increase the foreword, ISO preface, introduction;
--- Revised GB/T 14393-1993 in 2.2.1, "Data Box Bar" EXAMPLES 2 and part 3 (this version 3.3.1);
