This document supersedes GB/T 12902-2006 "Analytical Methods for Turpentine Oil" and GB/T 33029-2016 "Turpentine Oil and Related Terpenes Products".
"Compositional Capillary Gas Chromatography Analysis Method". This document is based on GB/T 12902-2006 and integrates GB/T 33029-2016.
Content. Compared with GB/T 12902-2006, apart from structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows.
---The preparation method for the standard solution used in acid value determination has been changed (see 4.5, 4.6, and 10.2.2 of the.2006 edition);
---Added "Gascher colorimetry" (see 7.2.3);
---Added "Optical Rotation Measurement" (see 7.5);
---The number of parallel tests for the determination of turpentine component content has been changed from "three" to "two" (see 7.7.1.4,.2006 edition).

---The accuracy requirement for turpentine component content results has been changed from "meeting given repeatability and reproducibility" to "two parallel tests".
The absolute difference of the test results should not exceed 0.3 (see 7.7.2.2, 8.5.3 of the.2006 edition);

1 Scope
This document describes the appearance, color, relative density, refractive index, optical rotation, acid value, component content, initial boiling point, and distillation volume of turpentine oil.

3 Terms and Definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

initial boiling point
The temperature at which the first drop of liquid drips from the bottom of the turpentine condenser at standard atmospheric pressure (101.3 kPa).
3.2
Under standard atmospheric pressure (101.3 kPa), when the distillation temperature of turpentine reaches 170°C, the volume of turpentine distilled out accounts for the proportion of the input sample.
