Gas welding equipment - Hose assemblies for equipment for
welding, cutting and allied processes
1 Scope
This document specifies performance and test requirements for hose assemblies for
equipment for welding, cutting and allied processes.
This document applies to rubber hose assemblies used in gas circuit assemblies for
equipment for welding, cutting and allied processes. It does not apply to hose
assemblies in the gas pipeline upstream of pressure reducer.
2 Normative references
The contents of the following documents, through normative references in this text,
constitute indispensable provisions of this document. Among them, for dated references,
only the edition corresponding to that date applies to this document. For undated
references, the latest edition (including all amendments) applies to this document.

3 Terms and definitions
The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 3375 and the following ones apply to this
document.
3.1
Hose assembly
treatment.
4.2 Finishing material
Paint applied on the outside of the equipment shall be prevented from entering its gas
piping.
When making hose assembly connections, it shall not use viscous lubricants or filler
pastes, etc. to lubricate the hose tail or the hose.
4.3 Hose connection
The hose tail shall match the hose and be fastened by the hose clamp. See Appendix C
for recommended hose tail sizes.
When assembling and tightening the various parts of hose assembly, it shall properly
adjust the mutual position of the hose clamp and the hose tail, to prevent damage to the
hose lining.
When making connections, the outside of the hose shall be free from cuts, abrasions or
any other damage. The inside of the hose shall be free of dirt, talcum powder, rubber
chips, or other debris and impurities that may interfere with proper airflow and safe
operation of the equipment.
Hose clamps shall not be protruding or sharp, to prevent operator injury.
5 Operating guidelines
The physical strength and comprehensive safety performance of hose assemblies shall
meet the requirements of Clause 6.
6 Performance requirements and test methods
6.1 General requirements
The tests specified in this clause shall only be applicable to type tests.
Note: The tests specified in this clause are only applicable to type tests. The tests specified in this
clause are suitable for quality control checks; are not a production test procedure for all hose
connections and hose assemblies.
6.2 Gas tightness test
6.2.1 General requirements
When tested in accordance with GB/T 40337, the leakage rate of hose assembly shall
