Waste Submersible Motor-pumps
1 Scope
This Standard specifies the types, models, basic parameters, technical requirements,
test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, storage and transportation of
waste submersible motor-pumps.
This Standard is applicable to single-phase or three-phase waste submersible motor-
pumps conveying various types of sewage (waste water) or mixed liquids containing
insoluble solid phases, such as: silt, fiber, excrement and sludge manure, etc.
(hereinafter referred to as “motor-pumps”).
2 Normative References

phase motor, voltage: 380 V, closed-type stainless steel waste submersible motor-pump, is
marked as:

4.2.2 Supplementary marking refers to the necessary description or indication of the
product made by the enterprise in accordance with the contract or the stipulations. It is
marked or not marked as needed.
4.3 Basic Parameters
4.3.1 When the power frequency is 50 Hz and the voltage is single-phase (220 V) or
three-phase (380 V, 660 V, 1.14 kV, 3 kV, 6 kV and 10 kV), and under the specified
conditions of use, the basic parameters of the motor-pumps shall comply with the
stipulations of Table 1 and Table 2.
4.3.2 The parameters listed in Table 1 are the specified point parameters of single-
stage motor-pumps. The specified point parameters of multi-stage motor-pumps shall
comply with the motor-pump efficiency under the single-stage motor-pump flow and
type in Table 1. The lift shall comply with the design requirements, and the maximum
diameter of the passing particles shall be not less than 0.75 times of the single-stage
motor-pumps for Level-2 and not less than 0.5 times of the single-stage motor-pumps
for Level-3 and above.
4.3.3 When the flow parameter of the motor-pumps does not comply with the
stipulations of Table 1 or Table 2, the efficiency of the motor-pumps shall be determined
in accordance with the stipulations of Appendix A. Its actual value shall not be lower
than the determined value, and the maximum diameter of the passing particles shall
be not lower than the value under the diameter and flow rate of the adjacent discharge
port in Table 1 or Table 2.
4.3.4 When the motor-pumps have a cutting mechanism, the efficiency of the motor-
pumps is [(the value specified in Table 1 or the value determined in Appendix A) - 4%].
4.3.5 Table 2 specifies the basic parameters of axial-flow or mixed-flow motor-pumps
with a vane setting angle of 0°. The other angles are modified products, and their basic
parameters shall comply with the requirements determined by the supply-side and the
demand-side or the stipulations of the contract, but the efficiency of the motor-pumps
shall not be less than [(the value specified in Table 2 or the value determined in
Appendix A) - 5 %].
4.3.6 The discharge port diameters of the motor-pumps listed in Table 1 and Table 2
are recommended values. The discharge port diameter may also be determined in
accordance with the demands or the stipulations of the contract.
4.3.7 When the synchronous speed of the motor-pumps is inconsistent with Table 1
5 Technical Requirements
5.1 Basic Requirements
5.1.1 The motor-pumps shall comply with the requirements of this document and be
manufactured in accordance with the drawings and technical documents approved by
the established procedures.
5.1.2 The application and installation of the motor-pumps is divided into four types:
mobile installation, auto-coupling installation, wellbore installation and foundation
installation, which are determined by the supply-side and the demand-side in
accordance with the requirements of the contract.
5.1.3 The motor-pumps shall be able to operate under the following conditions of use
continuously and normally:
a) By taking the center of the impeller as the benchmark, the submerged depth
shall not exceed 5 m;
b) The temperature of the conveying medium shall not exceed 40 °C;
c) The pH value of the conveying medium is 4 ~ 10;
d) The volume ratio of the solid phase of the conveying medium is below 3%;
e) The kinematic viscosity of the conveying medium is 7 10-7 m2/s ~ 23 10-6
m2/s;
f) The largest particle of the solid phase in the conveying medium complies with
the stipulations of Table 1 and Table 2;
g) The density of the conveying medium is ≤ 1.3 103 kg/m3.
5.1.4 During the operation of the motor-pumps, the change of the power supply voltage
and frequency, and its influence on motor performance and temperature rise limit shall
comply with the stipulations of GB/T 755.
5.2 Motor-pump Performance and Deviation
5.2.1 The performance of the motor-pumps is based on the actual speed, and is not
converted (i.e., actually measured value).
5.2.2 The rated power of the motors matching the motor-pumps shall comply with the
values calculated through Formula (1) and Formula (2):

---the density of the conveying medium, expressed in (kg/m3);
g---the acceleration of gravity, g = 9.81 m/s2;
Q---the flow rate, expressed in (m3/h);
H---the lift, expressed in (m);
SP---the pump efficiency of the motor-pumps, expressed in (%);
PE---the rated power of the motors matching the motor-pumps, expressed in (kW);
K---the matching coefficient of the motor-pump power, when p ≤ 1.05 103 kg/m3, K =
1.2; when p > 1.05 103 kg/m3, K = 1.3;
PN---the shaft power at a specified point of the motor-pumps, expressed in (kW).
5.2.3 The flow rate of the motor-pumps is within the range of 0.7 times to 1.3 times the
specified flow rate, and the shaft power shall not exceed the rated power of the motor-
pumps.
5.2.4 The lift of the motor-pumps at the specified flow rate shall not be lower than 94%
of the specified lift; for the axial-flow type, it shall not be lower than 90% of the specified
lift.
5.2.5 Within the range of 0.7 times to 1.3 times the specified flow rate, when the pump
shaft power does not exceed the motor-pump power and the efficiency of the motor-
pumps is higher than the value specified in this document, it is allowed to reduce the
matching power level of the pump motor, but it shall comply with the stipulations of
5.2.3, and the efficiency of the motor-pumps shall be re-determined in accordance with
Appendix A and the new motor power.
5.2.6 The lower deviation of the efficiency of the motor-pumps is -0.045 times the
specified efficiency of the motor-pumps.
5.2.7 The passing capacity of the motor-pumps shall be greater than or equal to the
maximum diameter of the passing particles specified in Table 1 or Table 2.
5.2.8 When the density of the conveying medium p ≤ 1.05 103 kg/m3, it is allowed to
reduce the matching power level of the pump motor, but it shall comply with the
stipulations of 5.2.3, and the efficiency of the motor-pumps shall be re-determined in
accordance with Appendix A and the new motor power.
5.3 Electrical Properties and Requirements of Pump Motors
5.3.1 When the power, voltage and frequency are rated values, the guaranteed values
6.6 Hydrostatic (gas) Pressure Test of Parts Subject to Water Pressure
6.6.1 The hydrostatic (gas) pressure test of the parts of the motor-pumps subject to
water pressure shall be carried out on the water (gas) pressure test device.
6.6.2 The parts subject to the water pressure test shall receive anti-rust treatment. The
test pressure shall be 1.5 times the working pressure, but the minimum pressure shall
not be lower than 0.2 MPa. There shall be no leakage in 3 min.
6.6.3 The whole motor-pump is not disassembled for the test. Parts of the same
specifications may be used as a replacement.
6.7 Static (dynamic) Balance Test
6.7.1 The static (dynamic) balance test of the impeller of the motor-pumps and the
rotor of the motor shall be performed in accordance with the stipulations of GB/T
9239.1-2006.
6.7.2 The whole motor-pump is not disassembled for the test. Parts of the same
specifications may be used as a replacement.
6.8 Lead-out Cables of Motor-pumps
6.8.1 The lead-out cables of the motor-pumps shall comply with the stipulations of 5.6.
6.8.2 The length shall be measured with a tape.
6.9 Air Pressure Test on the Inner Cavity of Pump Motors
6.9.1 The air pressure test on the inner cavity of the pump motors shall be carried out
on the air pressure test device.
6.9.2 The test gas shall be post-treatment dry gas. Its requirements shall comply with
the stipulations of 5.7.2.
6.9.3 The whole motor-pump is not disassembled for the test. Parts of the same
specifications may be used as a replacement.
6.10 Appearance Inspection
The appearance of the motor-pumps shall be inspected by the visual inspection
method. It shall comply with the stipulations of 5.7.4.
6.11 Painting
The painting of the motor-pumps shall be performed in accordance with the stipulations
of JB/T 5673.
6.12 Protection Test
The protection test of the motor-pumps shall be performed with a multimeter or a
monitoring device in accordance with the protection type.
6.13 Test of Terminal Markings and Direction of Rotation
The test of terminal markings and direction of rotation of the motor-pumps shall be
performed in accordance with the stipulations of GB/T 1971.
6.14 Inspection of Safety and Safety Signs
6.14.1 The inspection of safety of the motor-pumps shall comply with the stipulations
of GB 10395.8.
6.14.2 The inspection of safety signs of the motor-pumps shall comply with the
stipulations of GB 10396.
6.15 Reliability Test
The reliability test of the motor-pumps shall be performed in accordance with the
stipulations of JB/T 11923.
7 Inspection Rules
7.1 Exit-factory Inspection
7.1.1 Each motor-pump shall pass the inspection and test and be accompanied by a
product certificate and instruction manual before exiting the factory.
7.1.2 The exit-factory inspection items shall include:
a) Appearance inspection;
b) Determination of insulation resistance of the stator winding of the pump motor
to the enclosure (only the cold-state insulation resistance is measured);
c) Voltage resistance test;
d) Test of direction of rotation;
e) Operation status check;
f) Measurement of lift under the specified flow rate;
g) Determination of efficiency of the motor pump at the specified flow rate;
h) Inspection of protection devices;
i) Sealing monitoring device test (only applicable to 15 kW and above);
motor-pump water or air pressure test, motor no-load characteristic test and
motor locked-rotor characteristic test, the process inspection of parts or
components may be used as a replacement, and no disassembly is required;
g) Determination of maximum particle passing capacity;
h) Reliability test.
7.2.3 The sampling and judgment disposal rules of type inspection shall comply with
the stipulations of GB/T 2828.1-2012. It is recommended to adopt one-time sampling
scheme for normal inspection. The inspection batch shall satisfy the sample size of at
least 2 sets. The inspection level is the special inspection level S-1; the acceptance
quality limit (AQL) is 6.5.
8 Marking, Packaging, Storage and Transportation
8.1 Marking
8.1.1 Product marking
8.1.1.1 The plate shall comply with the stipulations of GB/T 13306 and be fixed at an
obvious location. The material of the plate and the method of engraving data on the
plate shall be able to ensure that the writing is not easy to be worn out during the entire
service cycle.
8.1.1.2 The plate shall at least indicate the following contents:
a) The name of the manufacturer;
b) The model and name of the motor-pump;
c) The specified flow rate, expressed in (m3/h);
d) The specified lift, expressed in (m);
e) The rated power, expressed in (kW);
f) The rated voltage, expressed in (V);
g) The rated frequency, expressed in (Hz);
h) The rated current, expressed in (A);
i) The synchronous speed, expressed in (r/min);
j) The vane setting angle (not required, except for adjustable vanes);
k) Number of phases;
l) Thermal classification and temperature rise limit;
m) The diameter of the discharge port, expressed in (mm);
n) The diameter of the maximum particle passed, expressed in (mm);
o) Exit-factory No. and date;
p) Mass (net weight), expressed in (kg);
q) Serial No. of implemented document.
8.1.1.3 The motor-pumps shall have an obvious marking of the direction of rotation.
8.1.2 Packaging marking
The text and signs on the outer wall of the packaging box shall be clear and tidy, and
the main contents are as follows:
a) The name of the manufacturer;
b) Product model, name and quantity;
c) Mass (net weight and gross weight together with the packaging), expressed
in (kg);
d) Overall dimensions of the packaging box (length width height), expressed
in (mm);
e) Appropriate parts of the packaging box shall have necessary signs that
comply with the stipulations of GB/T 191.
8.2 Packaging
8.2.1 The packaging of the motor-pumps shall be able to ensure that the product will
not be damaged due to improper packaging under normal transportation conditions.
8.2.2 Each motor-pump shall be attached with the following accompanying documents:
a) Packing list;
b) Product certificate;
c) Instruction manual;
d) Other necessary accompanying documents.
8.3 Storage
8.3.1 The storage of the motor-pumps shall be well-ventilated and protected from rain
