Foreword
This document was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2020
"Directives for standardization - Part 1.Rules for the structure and drafting of
standardizing documents".
This document replaces GB/T 21295-2014 "Requirements of physical and chemical
performance of garments".
Compared with GB/T 21295-2014, in addition to structural adjustments and editorial
changes, the main technical changes are as follows.
- Delete the terms and definitions of "durable press performance", "durable press
textiles", "moisture permeability", "flammability", "water repellency",
"hydrostatic pressure resistance", "UV protection", "anti-snagging performance",
"water absorption rate", "drip diffusion time", "evaporation rate", "evaporation
time", "wicking height", "oil repellency", "easy stain removal performance" and
"infant and toddler products" (see 3.1~3.16 of Edition 2014);
- Change the requirements for color fastness to wet rubbing, color fastness to light,
and color fastness to hot pressing. Add the requirements for color fastness to
storage, color fastness to staining by lotion, color fastness to yellowing due to
light, and color fastness to ozone. Delete the requirements for dye migration
performance, color fastness to soap washing for sewing threads, decorative
threads, and embroidery threads. Change the provisions of the footnotes (see 4.2
of this Edition; 4.3 of Edition 2014);
- Change the requirements for seam slippage, seam strength, pilling performance,
tear strength, breaking strength, adhesive interlining peel strength, and abrasion
resistance (see 4.3.1~4.3.5, 4.3.7, 4.3.9 of this Edition; 4.11.1, 4.11.2~4.11.6 of
Edition 2014);
- Add the requirements for bursting strength and resistance to moisture and heat
aging (see 4.3.6, 4.3.10 of this Edition);
- Change the provisions of the footnote for the rate of dimensional change (see 4.4.1
of this Edition; 4.10.1 of Edition 2014);
- Change the requirements for distortion rate after washing (see 4.4.2 of this Edition;
4.10.4 of Edition 2014);
- Delete the requirements for the smoothness of the appearance after washing and
drying, and the smoothness of the appearance of the seams after washing and
drying (see 4.10.2 and 4.10.3 of Edition 2014);

performance of garments.
This document applies to the quality control of garments produced with textile woven
fabrics as the main fabric.
NOTE. This document is generally used for selection and application in the formulation
and revision of garment standards and internal quality control.
