weight and allowable deviation, technical requirements, test methods,
inspection rules, packaging, marks and quality certificate for hot rolled sheet
piles.
This Standard is applicable to the hot rolled sheet piles that are used in
embankment reinforcement, interception cofferdams and other anti-seepage
and water-stopping projects, as well as structural foundation projects such as
mud-retaining walls, water-retaining walls, and building foundation pit supports
(hereinafter referred to as "hot rolled sheet piles").

3 Terms and definitions
There are no terms and definitions that need to be defined in this Standard.
4 Order content
The contract or order for placing orders in accordance with this Standard shall
contain the following contents:
a) Reference to this Standard;
b) Product's name;
c) Designation;
d) Model;
e) Delivery length;
f) Weight and (or) quantity;
g) Other special requirements, such as: special model requirements, special
surface quality requirements.
5 Classification, code, designation and model
expression method
5.1 Classification, code
Hot rolled sheet piles include three types. The specific varieties and their codes
are as follows:
a) Type U sheet piles: code is PU;
b) Type Z sheet piles: code is PZ;
c) Straight sheet piles: code is PI.
NOTE: "P" is the first letter of pile. "U", "Z", and "I" represent the cross-sectional shape of
sheet piles.
5.2 Designation and model expression methods
5.2.1 Designation expression method
The first letter "Q" in the designation is the initial letter of the Chinese Pinyin
(Qu) of the word "Qu" that means the yield strength, and the following figure is
the minimum yield strength. The last letter "P" is the initial letter of sheet pile.
Example: Q295P.
5.2.2 Model expression method
Type U and linear sheet piles: PU (PI) W (effective width) × H (effective height)
× t (web plate thickness)
Example 1: PU600×210×18
Example 2: PI500×88×11
Type Z sheet pile: PZW x (section modulus)/100 (rounded) - W (effective width)
Example: PZ12-770
without edges or corners. The cleaning width shall not be less than 5 times the
cleaning depth.
The welding repair regulations are as follows:
a) Before welding repairs, mechanical methods such as eradication or
grinding with a grinding wheel shall be used to completely remove surface
defects. Then carry out surfacing repair. After welding repair, grinding shall
be carried out. It shall be consistent with the original rolling surface;
b) There shall be no undercut and weld bead on the outer edge of welding.
The height of the weld slope of the strengthened weld shall be 1.5mm
higher than the original rolled surface. After cleaning the welding slope of
the reinforced weld by mechanical methods such as eradication or
grinding with a grinding wheel, it shall be ensured to be the same height
as the original rolled surface;
c) Welding repairs shall be carried out according to the steel designation
using appropriate techniques;
d) The depth of defect removal before welding repair shall be less than 30%
of the nominal thickness of the surface to be cleaned. The weld repair area
shall be less than 2% of the sheet pile inspection area.
6.7 Numerical rounding
Numerical rounding shall comply with YB/T 081.
7 Test methods
7.1 The inspection items and test methods of various inspections of steel shall
meet the requirements of Table 8.
7.2 The relevant dimensions of sheet piles shall be measured as follows:
a) The effective width (W) is the distance between the center points of the
two ends of the sheet pile (see Figure 1~Figure 3);
b) The effective height (H) of type U sheet pile and type Z sheet pile is the
height difference from the center point of the locking notch to the surface
of the web plate (see Figure 1 and Figure 2);
c) The effective height (H) of the straight sheet pile is the height difference
between the joint surfaces of the two sheet piles (see Figure 3).
7.3 The chemical composition test of steel shall be carried out according to
GB/T 4336, GB/T 20123, GB/T 20125, GB/T 22368 or general chemical
analysis methods. The arbitration shall adopt the methods in GB/T 223.3, GB/T
223.5, GB/T 223.9, GB/T 223.11, GB/T 223.12, GB/T 223.13, GB/T 223.14,
GB/T 223.17, GB/T 223.18, GB/T 223.19, GB/T 223.23, GB/T 223.40, GB/T
223.53, GB/T 223.54, GB/T 223.58, GB/T 223.59, GB/T 223.60, GB/T 223.61,
GB/T 223.62, GB/T 223.63, GB/T 223.64, GB/T 223.67, GB/T 223.68, GB/T
223.69, GB/T 223.71, GB/T 223.72, GB/T 223.76, GB/T 223.79, GB/T 223.85,
GB/T 223.86.
7.4 Sampling shall meet the following requirements:
a) The sampling quantity of sheet piles is shown in Table 8;
b) The tensile test specimens of the sheet pile are cut at the position shown
in Figure 4 along the rolling direction of the sheet pile.
