Steel bars for ship anchor chain
1 Scope
This Standard specifies the ordering content, dimensions, shape, weight and
tolerances, designation, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules,
packaging, marking, and certification of steel bars for ship anchor chain.
This Standard is applicable to hot-rolled steel bars for anchor chain (hereinafter
referred to as steel bars) with a diameter of 13 mm~190 mm.
2 Normative references
The following documents are indispensable for the application of this document.
For the dated references, only the editions with the dates indicated are
applicable to this document. For the undated references, the latest edition
(including all the amendments) are applicable to this document.

3 Ordering content
Contracts or orders for ordering in accordance with this Standard shall include
the following:
a) Standard number;
b) Product name;
c) Designation;
d) Delivery state;
e) Dimensions;
f) Weight;
g) Special requirements.
4 Designation representation method
The designation of steel bars consists of the first letter “C”, “M” of Chinese pinyin
of “ship” and “anchor” and the minimum tensile strength, for example, CM490.
5 Dimensions, shape, weight, and tolerances
5.1 Dimensions and tolerance
Dimensions and tolerance of steel bars shall comply with the provisions of GB/T
702.
5.2 Length and tolerance
According to the requirements of the purchaser, it may be delivered according
to the fixed length and multiple length. The length tolerance is 0~+50 mm. A
cleaning depth. The cleaning depth is calculated from the actual dimension and
shall not exceed half of the tolerance. There shall be no more than one place
where the maximum cleaning depth is reached on the same cross-section.
7 Test methods
7.1 Inspection items, sampling quantities, sampling methods, test
methods
The inspection items, sampling quantities, sampling methods, and test methods
of each lot of steel bars shall comply with Table 4.

7.2 Sampling for tests of mechanical properties
7.2.1 For the steel bar with a diameter of not more than 40 mm, it shall retain
the rolled surface of the steel bar. The tensile test shall be carried out without
machining. When the testing machine is not capable enough, the sample is
allowed to be turned. According to the provisions of GB/T 2975, cut the impact
sample.
7.2.2 For the steel bar with a diameter greater than 40 mm, at the positions
shown in Figure 1 and Figure 2, cut the tensile and impact samples.
