Test for Neutrality of Benzole Products
Warning: benzole products are volatile toxic and harmful substances; operators
shall properly wear protective articles, for example, gas mask, and operate in
ventilation hood.
1 Scope
This Standard stipulates the principle, sampling and sample preparation, reagents,
instruments, test procedures and test result of test for neutrality of benzole products.
This Standard is applicable to test for neutrality of benzole products, such as crude
benzole, which is recovered from coke oven gas; coking benzene, coking toluene and
coking xylene, which are obtained from light benzene through hydrogenation and
rectification; petroleum benzene, petroleum toluene and petroleum mixed xylene,
which are produced from petroleum fraction through catalytic reforming process, etc.

3 Principle
At room temperature, use quantitative water to extract quantitative sample. Use the
acidity and alkalinity of the extract to express the acidity and alkalinity of products.
4 Sampling and Sample Preparation
The sampling and sample preparation of benzole products shall comply with the
stipulations in GB/T 1999 and GB/T 4756.
