1 Scope

This part of GB 40554 specifies the safety production requirements for offshore oil and gas exploration operations. This part is applicable to beach, shallow, sea, and land-shore terminals.

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document. 3.1 Shallow sea Sea chart with a water depth of 5m~15m. 3.2 Beachshalowwater The sea area where the chart water depth is less than 5m (including 5m). 3.3 Offshore The sea area where the chart water depth exceeds 15m. 3.4 Offshore oil and gas production facilities Various fixed or floating structures and devices on or under water for the purpose of exploiting offshore oil. Note. Offshore oil production facilities include offshore fixed platforms, single-point moorings, floating production and storage devices, subsea pipelines, underwater production systems, artificial islands, beach, sea and land Offshore and land-shore structures such as offshore oil facilities and land-shore terminals.
