Summary
This standard specifies the preparation of samples for chemical composition analysis of cast iron furnace slag, and describes the determination of silica content by perchloric acid dehydration gravimetric method, the determination of ferrous oxide content by potassium dichromate volumetric method, and inductively coupled plasma emission spectrometry. This method is used to determine the amount of manganese monoxide, aluminum oxide, calcium oxide, magnesium oxide and phosphorus pentoxide and the infrared absorption method to determine the amount of sulfur. This standard applies to the analysis activities of the chemical composition of cast iron furnace slag.
