Snow cover affects radiation balance, energy exchange and hydrological cycle at the global scale, and is an important input variable for hydrological and climate models. remote
Sensory monitoring of snow cover has the characteristics of macroscopic, rapid, dynamic and economical, and it is an important way to monitor snow cover.
At present, the widely used remote sensing products of snow area mainly include two types of remote sensing products of snow area binary value and ratio of snow area.

3 Terms and Definitions
The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 36296-2018, GB/T 39468-2020 and the following apply to this document.
3.1
snow pixel snowpixel
The figure type contains only snow-covered cells.
3.2
mixedsnowpixel mixedsnowpixel
In addition to the snow surface cover, the ground object type also includes other surface-covered pixels.
3.3
non-snowpixel
The figure type does not contain snow-covered cells.
3.4
snow depth
The vertical depth from the snow surface to the ground beneath the snow.
Note. Snow depth is the most basic physical quantity for snow observation, and is an important parameter for snow water equivalent estimation, water balance in the basin and simulation of snowmelt runoff. Commonly used units
for centimeters (cm).

Pixels only indicate whether the surface cover is a snow cover type remote sensing product of snow cover.
Note. All pixels are divided into two types. "snow pixels" and "non-snow pixels", and each pixel can only take one of the types.

The pixel represents the snow cover area remote sensing product of the snow cover type.
