1 Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, principles, and instrument design for testing the elastic modulus of ceramic thick coatings using the pulse excitation method at high temperatures. 3 Terms and definitions

4 Principle

For a thick ceramic coating with a continuous interface and tightly bonded to the substrate, its elastic modulus can be calculated by the pulse excitation method and related formulas. The elastic modulus of the coating is obtained by three parameters, namely the elastic modulus (Es) of the matrix sample, the elastic modulus (Eq) of the composite sample, the coating and The thickness ratio of the substrate (R=h/H). The values of Eq and Es are measured by the high-temperature pulse excitation method.
