New material technology maturity level division and definition
1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, grade division and decision rules for the maturity of new material technologies.
This standard applies to the maturity evaluation of new materials technology.
2 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
2.1
New material newmaterials
Emerging materials with excellent performance and special functions, as well as materials with improved performance or improved new functions.
2.2
Technology maturity level technologyreadinesslevels
A measure of how well a technology meets the intended application goals.
2.3
Sample samples
In the laboratory stage, the physical properties prepared for testing the main performance and inspection process according to the product design requirements may be considered regardless of the final
form.
2.4
Prototype developedproducts
In the engineering phase, consider the final form and test key performance and functionality in a laboratory or use environment.
Batch or small scale preparation of the object.
2.5
Product
In the industrialization stage, the production process is mature, mass production is possible, and all functions can be realized, and the physical objects that fully meet the intended use target can be fully realized.
2.6
Simulation environment simulationenvironments
Simulate the real-world environment to verify the technical principles and test environments in which the functions are used.
2.7
Use environment realenvironments
The environment and working conditions when the product is actually used.
3 Classification and requirements
3.1 Classification
The maturity of new material technologies is divided into nine levels in three stages, and the technical maturity of each level is shown in Table 1.
