Engine coolant boiling point assay
1 Scope
This standard specifies the method for determining engine coolant boiling point of equilibrium. It refers to the equilibrium boiling point at atmospheric pressure in standard samples in the cooling device
And reach within reach boiling temperature vapor-liquid equilibrium.
Note 1. This standard applies to the determination of diluted or concentrated engine coolant boiling.
Note 2. The sampling and preparation of the engine coolant samples containing anti-corrosion additives see ASTMD1176.
This standard uses the International System of Units, brackets for reference only.
This standard does not involve the use of all safety-related issues, the use of this standard user has the responsibility to establish appropriate safety and health measures
Shi and prior to use to determine the scope of application limited.

3 Method Summary
Take 60mL sample into 100mL flask. At atmospheric pressure and heated to boiling, when it reaches the gas-liquid equilibrium, read the temperature of the sample,
By atmospheric pressure difference after correction for sample boiling point.
Instrument 4 (see FIG. 1)
4.1 flask
100mL round-bottomed, short-necked, bottlenecks Pyrex flask 19/38 standard taper matte interface, there is a outer diameter of 10mm
(0.4in) side of the tube, insert the thermometer mercury thermometer ball from the bottom of the flask center 6.5mm (0.26in). Figure 2 flasks.
4.2 condenser
Glass shape, with a long 200mm (7.9in) condensing units, cooling water condensation reflux condenser has a bottom end
19/38 standard taper outer matte interface.
4.3 zeolite
Three or four silicon carbide grains, the 8th grit or other suitable inert fragments can be used for testing. In order to prevent bumping samples can
To increase the amount of zeolite.
4.4 Thermometer
ASTME1 selected in line with the standard requirements of the local immersion thermometer, measuring temperature range of -5 ℃ ~ + 300 ℃ (20 ~
580), to meet the requirements ASTME1 liquid glass thermometer in the specifications 2C or 2F thermometer.
4.5 heating device
Selection of a suitable electrical heating units, heating strength must meet the heating rate and the return rate of 7.1 required.
