This standard replaces GB/T 14693-1993 "NDT weld symbol."
This standard and GB/T 14693-1993 compared to the main changes are as follows.

3 Terms and Definitions
GB/T 12604, the terms and definitions GB/T 13361 and GB/T 20737 apply to this standard established.
4 NDT Symbol elements
4.1 Overview
NDT symbol consists of the following elements.
a) the baseline;
b) an arrow;
c) detection method letter identification code;
d) detection range and number of sampling;
e) auxiliary symbol;
Tail f) baseline (technical conditions, specifications or standards).
NDT symbol pattern painting shall conform to GB/T 4457.2, the dimensions should be consistent with GB/T 4458.4 and
GB/T 16675.2 requirements.
NDT area, location, direction and angle of the label shall comply with the relevant provisions of GB 3100 to 3102, using the International System of Units.
