This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part 1.Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents".
Drafting.
This document supersedes GB 14444-2006 "Safety Regulations for Painting Operations - Technical Specifications for Safety of Spray Painting Booths" and is consistent with GB 14444-2006.
Compared to previous versions, aside from structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows.
a) The scope of application has been changed, and the scope of reference for implementation has been removed (see Chapter 1, Chapter 1 of the.2006 edition);
b) The terms "spray booth," "leveling zone," and "interference airflow" have been removed (see 3.2, 3.4, and 3.6 of the.2006 edition);
c) The definitions of the terms "spray booth," "spray area," "controlled airflow," "dry spray booth," and "wet spray booth" have been changed (see 3.1, 3.2,...).
3.4, 3.6, 3.7 (and 3.1, 3.3, 3.5, 3.8, 3.9 in the.2006 edition);
d) The terms and definitions for "paint mist collection device," "electrostatic spraying chamber," and "dynamic and static pressure chamber" have been added (see 3.3, 3.8, 3.9, and 3.10);
e) The extent of the paint spraying area has been changed (see 4.1, 4.1 and 4.2 in the.2006 edition);
f) The requirement to install an automatic fire suppression system in the leveling room has been removed (see 5.9 in the.2006 edition);
g) The example of the exhaust volume calculation method has been removed (see section 8.1 of the.2006 edition);
h) Requirements for dry spray booths have been added (see 5.2.1, 5.2.2, 5.2.3, and 5.3.2);
i) Requirements for preventing dust explosions have been added (see 5.3.2, 6.5);
j) The requirement for interlocking between the ventilation system and the automatic spraying equipment has been added (see 5.3.5);
k) The requirements for classifying hazardous areas for explosive gas atmospheres in and adjacent areas have been changed (see 5.4.1, 5.4.2,.2006 edition).
(6.1.1, 6.2, 6.3)
l) Requirements for the installation of static eliminators have been added (see 5.5.3);
(m) The requirement that the controlling wind speed for interfering airflow not exceed 0.5 m/s has been removed (see section 8.2 of the.2006 edition);
n) The design value for the control wind speed has been changed (see 5.3.3, 8.2 in the.2006 version);
o) The requirement for safety oversight has been removed (see 15.1 and 15.2 in the.2006 edition);
p) The operation and maintenance requirements have been changed (see Chapter 6, Chapters 13 and 14 of the.2006 edition);
q) The explosion hazard zone delineation diagram near paint booths with side or front openings where the exhaust system is not interlocked with the spraying equipment has been removed.
(See Figure A.2 in the.2006 edition);
r) The lower flammability limits for commonly used solvents have been removed (see Appendix B of the.2006 edition);
s) Examples of lighting fixtures that are components of the paint spraying area and are repaired within the paint spraying area have been added (see Figure C.2).
