Part 8. Validity period of resident ID card
1 Scope
This section specifies the method for determining the start date and deadline for the validity period of a resident ID card.
This section applies to the management of resident ID cards of public security organs at all levels.
2 Resident ID card validity period start date
Refers to the date when the public security organ issues a resident identity card.
3 Resident ID card expiration date
3.1 A resident ID card claimed by a citizen under the age of 16 is valid for 5 years.
Example. The date of birth of a citizen is December 12,.1993, and the date of issuance of the resident ID card is March 27,.2004.
The validity period of the certificate shall be..2004.3.27-2009.3.27.
3.2 A resident ID card claimed by a citizen who is between the ages of 16 and 25 is valid for 10 years.

3.3 ID cards issued by citizens aged between 26 and 45 are valid for 20 years.

4 Determination of special dates
4.1 The date of birth of the citizen is February 29 of the following year. When calculating the age of the year, the non-leap year is the full year of March 1.
