Part 3. Determination of the amount of hydrogen
Inert gas fusion thermal conductivity method
1 Scope
This section YS/T 861 specifies the method for determining the amount of hydrogen in niobium-titanium alloy with a thermal conductivity method.
This section applies to the determination of niobium titanium in the amount of hydrogen in the measurement range. 0.0002% to 0.050%.
2 Method summary
The sample was placed in a graphite crucible, was added tin particles flux, the argon carrier gas flow to the heating pulse. Sample release of hydrogen, with the carrier gas flow
After thermal conductivity, thermal conductivity changes according to the relationship and the hydrogen concentration detected by the hydrogen content.
3 Reagents and materials
3.1 Argon. Volume fraction ≥99.99%.
3.2 acetone. AR.
3.3 Sodium hydroxide clay. Usually referred to as a base of asbestos, using the instrument specification requirements of purity.
3.4 anhydrous magnesium perchlorate. in the instrument used to absorb moisture, using the instrument specification requirements of purity.
3.5 Schutz reagent. iodine pentoxide on silica gel, using the instrument specification requirements of purity.
3.6 Flux. tin particles/foil (wH < 0.0002%).
3.7 graphite crucible. using the instrument for a high purity crucible.
3.8 Standard sample. sample selection and composition, similar to the hydrogen content of standard samples or other applicable standard sample.
4 Instrument
Hydrogen Analyzer. Instrument sensitivity is not less than 0.00001%.
5 Sample
5.1 cut from the sample of about 0.15g sample was washed with acetone (3.2), allow to dry.
5.2 sample can not be contaminated during operation, with special forceps.
Step 6 Analysis
6.1 Warm up
To fully preheated before instrumental analysis, so that the indicators of the instrument reaches the set value.
