Summary	This standard specifies the technical requirements for the distance-enhanced Ethernet physical layer interface based on 2D-PAM3 and 4D-PAM5 encoding methods, including functional requirements, performance indicators, electrical characteristics, mechanical characteristics and environmental requirements. This standard is only applicable to 1 or 2 pairs of Category 3/Category 5 twisted pairs, using the 2D-PAM3 encoding method, and to 4 pairs of Category 5 twisted pairs, using the 4D-PAM5 encoding method, at 10M/100Mbps. The design, development and testing of enhanced Ethernet interfaces for data transmission speed and distance, as well as the interconnection and interoperability of related equipment.
