1 Scope

This document specifies the cigarette bursting bead strength used to determine the crushing strength of cigarette bursting beads, cigarettes containing bursting beads or cigarette filter rods under constant pressure. 3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document. 3.1 Cigarette capsule The capsule material used in the filter rod for cigarettes can release the contents wrapped therein after the wall material is broken (cracked) under the action of external force. 3.2 Crush strength The pressure on a popping bead sample or a popping bead in a cigarette or filter rod sample when it is squeezed and burst (broken) under specified conditions. Note. The unit is Newton (N). 3.3 Pressure unit pressure unit During the test, the unit that generates pressure and test speed must have the function of setting a fixed force value within the measuring range. 3.4 Test speedtestspeed The rate at which the two platens of the measuring instrument approach each other during the test. Note. The unit is millimeter per minute (mm/min). 3.5 Pressure sampling frequency samplingfrequency The number of times a pressure sensor can collect force values per unit time. 3.6 Zero point After the sample is loaded, the force zero point is the output value of the pressure sensor before it is subjected to external pressure, and the displacement zero point is the output value of the sample when it is compressed to the initial value. The displacement output value when the pressure is 0.1N, the time zero point is the time value when the sample pressure data starts to be collected.
