Summary This standard specifies technical measures to prevent the ignition of flammable liquids and gases in the presence of static electricity, lightning and stray current. This standard is applicable to the management of transportation, storage and handling of liquid petroleum products. This standard does not apply to the following situations: a) Electrostatic discharge may occur, but flammable vapors in the discharge area can be removed or inerted. B) Store the product in a closed system where the oxygen content is below the minimum required for combustion. C) The concentration of flammable substances is always higher than the upper limit of combustion (UFL). D) Electrostatic hazard from solid transport.
