1 Scope
This standard specifies the principles, procedures, basic elements and general requirements for chemical risk assessment.
This standard applies to the risk assessment of chemicals.
2 terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
2.1
Hazard
The inherent characteristics of a chemical that may cause undesirable effects on exposure to organisms, systems or (sub) populations.
2.2
Risk of risk
The possibility of adversely affecting the exposure of a living body, a system or a (sub) population to a chemical in a particular environment.
2.3
Risk assessment riskassessment
The calculation or estimation of the risk and uncertainty of the target organism, system or (sub) population under specific chemical exposure conditions,
This process should take into account the intrinsic characteristics of the chemical and the characteristics of the specific target biological system. The process of risk assessment consists of four steps
Hazard identification, hazard characterization, exposure assessment, and risk characterization.

Hazard assessment
Identify the process of causing a potential hazard to a chemical, a system, or a (sub) population when exposed to a chemical. The process includes hazard identification and danger

Note. The hazard assessment process focuses on hazards and does not include an exposure assessment process compared to the risk assessment.

Hazard identification hazardidentification
The identification of the type and nature of the chemical that has a potential, can cause adverse effects on the organism, the system or the (sub) population.
Hazard identification is the first stage in the hazard assessment process and the first step in the four steps of the risk assessment.

Hazard characterization
Qualitatively or quantitatively (if practicable) describe an inherent characteristic that a chemical may cause a potential hazard. Hazard characterization included
